Engineered flooring isn't always the first choice when beginning the processes of deciding which type of flooring to go for. - It is very robust and durable: Unlike solid wood flooring that can be sensitive to moisture and heat caused by the layers of wood contracting and expanding, engineered flooring consists of layers of plywood underneath. This is a key benefit as it provides additional strength to the flooring. This is because the layers of plywood are laid cross ways; much in the same way the bricks are laid when building a house in order to strengthen its foundations.
