Floorsave Want to Share With You The Many Benefits of Engineered Flooring

Engineered flooring isn't always the first choice when beginning the processes of deciding which type of flooring to go for. Floorsave have been around for some time and our experience tells us that when renovating the home, many homeowners lean towards solid wood flooring. They believe that solid wood is the "real deal" and has the highest quality finish and therefore durability. Of course solid wood flooring has many benefits but if you're looking for something slightly cheaper but don't want to go for a laminate finish, engineered flooring could be your best bet.

Some reasons why we would highly recommend engineered flooring:

  1. Ease of installation: It's very easy to install. Wood flooring is typically difficult to install without the help of a professional, this all adds to the cost and time required.
  2. It does actually have a wood effect and finish: Engineered flooring, has a 1/16” to 1/8” wood finish on its top layer, so underfoot it actually feels and looks just like the real thing! In reality what you see is 100% real wood.
  3. It is very robust and durable: Unlike solid wood flooring that can be sensitive to moisture and heat caused by the layers of wood contracting and expanding, engineered flooring consists of layers of plywood underneath. This is a key benefit as it provides additional strength to the flooring. This is because the layers of plywood are laid cross ways; much in the same way the bricks are laid when building a house in order to strengthen its foundations.
  4. Floorsave have a varied range to choose from: We have many colours and varieties to choose from so there are no limitations. Much of our flooring is made to our own specification by our own factories and imported direct to give you the best quality and price.
  5. It comes pre-finished, so less for you to do: The top level of the flooring is pre-finished, this means that it's already sanded and sealed, the benefit of this is that as soon as the floor is laid you are able to walk on it!
  6. It can go places no other flooring dare venture: It can be laid in areas that have light moisture such as kitchens, basements and bathrooms.
