With these simple tools you can fit the new floor through a doorway in just a few minutes.

  • Jam saw
  • Pencil
  • Hammer
  • Stanley knife
  • Chop saw
  • Ruler

Instructions:

Adjust your jam saw to the height of your wood flooring and tighten for accuracy.

Once your saw is secure at the correct height, slowly undercut your architrave. This is the most important part of the procedure, as it allows the floor to slip underneath the door frame. Try not to cut higher, as there will be a big gap between the flooring and the jamb. If you want to find out more regarding how to cut architrave, click here.

Then, put your board in place and mark with a pencil the width and the length of the architrave. Once this is done, join the lines together using your right angled ruler and clearly mark the piece you will be cutting.

After you have cut the board, fit in place and carry on fitting through the doorway.

Once you reach the other side, repeat the process measuring the height and width as shown on the video. Now that you have cut the other board, fit it in place.
